First identified in November 2021, the Omicron variant is becoming better understood. What we do know is that it’s very infectious, even more so than the Delta variant. The early evidence also shows that the precautions that have proven successful with other variants, including COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, still work in reducing the risk of being infected and spreading the disease.
