Vaccination during pregnancy helps build antibodies that you may pass on to help protect your baby. In numerous studies of vaccinated moms, antibodies were found in the umbilical cord blood of babies and in the mother’s breastmilk.

More studies are needed to determine how these antibodies, similar to those produced with other vaccines, may provide protection to unborn babies.
